Anchored off the Coast of Barbuda
We found the perfect deserted beach with fine white sands and beautiful coral garden reefs just beneath the surface of the Caribbean blue sea.

Cruising the Leeward Islands
New Year on the French island group of Guadeloupe before moving onto the lush mountainous Dominica.  Two strikingly different islands.

The last part of the journey was quite difficult because we suffered numerous squalls in the last 36 hours.  Mostly they gave us nothing more than a quick push along under their clouds but some of them gave us a wind shift and they all brought rain.  We had very little sleep during the last night mainly because we were excited at the thought of arriving at last but also now we were close to land we had to keep a watch for other shipping.  We continued to sail around the south coast of Antigua and then up the west coast, around the outside of all the reefs, to Jolly Harbour.  We landed at 09.00 being the 7th boat in and the 1st of the slower boats (although it’s not a race).  Richard and ‘Boot’ from BWRallies met us on the immigration pontoon bearing fruit and rum punch that tasted wonderful.  Bill had to go straight to immigration and the customs to check us in before we were allowed to move to our berth in the marina.  It was beautifully hot and sunny and suddenly all the trials and tribulations we had endured in the Atlantic were forgotten. We had arrived in the Caribbean having covered 2949 miles in 23 days and 3 hours or 555 hours, which gave us an average speed of 5.3kts and we did it with just the two of us – what a team.  The gallery below shows some of the pictures that we took.
